Cowboys Are Down So Bad That Daniel Jones Has Become A Possibility

The Cowboys’ pursuit of Jones is driven by their dire need for a reliable passer. Starting quarterback Dak Prescott has endured a tumultuous season marred by poor play and injuries. Backup Cooper Rush, initially seen as a placeholder, has also failed to impress.

According to former NFL executive Scott Pioli, “Dallas is in a desperate situation. They have no choice but to explore every possible option to improve their quarterback position.”

Jones has shown flashes of promise during his tenure with the Giants. In 2022, he led the team to a surprising playoff berth. However, he has also been prone to turnovers and inconsistent play.

“Jones is a talented player with the potential to be a franchise quarterback,” said NFL analyst Chris Simms. “But he needs to be in the right system and with the right coaching.”

The potential acquisition of Jones would have significant implications for both the Cowboys and the Giants. Dallas would gain a quarterback with more upside than Prescott or Rush. New York, on the other hand, would receive valuable draft compensation and a chance to rebuild around a young, talented core.

Sources indicate that the Cowboys are willing to part with multiple high draft picks in exchange for Jones. However, the Giants are reportedly reluctant to part ways with their former first-round pick.

As of now, the trade remains in the exploratory stage. But if the Cowboys’ struggles continue, the move for Jones could become more likely.
