Colman Domingo to Star in Netflix Limited Series ‘The Madness’
Domingo will portray Dr. James Vance, a brilliant and respected surgeon haunted by a traumatic secret. As the series unfolds, Vance’s facade of success crumbles as he grapples with his own inner demons and the consequences of his past actions.
‘The Madness’ is written and executive produced by John Ridley, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of ’12 Years a Slave.’ The series is directed by Kasi Lemmons, known for her work on ‘Harriet’ and ‘Eve’s Bayou.’ Domingo also serves as an executive producer alongside Ridley and Lemmons.
“Colman Domingo is an extraordinary talent who brings depth and nuance to every role he takes on,” said John Ridley. “His portrayal of Dr. James Vance will be both captivating and heartbreaking.”
“I am thrilled to be part of ‘The Madness,'” said Colman Domingo. “It’s a powerful and provocative story that delves into the darkness of the human psyche. I can’t wait to bring John Ridley’s vision to life.”
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for ‘The Madness.’ However, production is expected to begin this summer in New York City.
With a talented cast and crew behind it, ‘The Madness’ promises to be a gripping and thought-provoking limited series that explores the complexities of mental illness, trauma, and the fragility of the human mind.
