Ted Danson Has A New Comedy Series Coming Out This Fall

“I’m thrilled to be working with Ted Danson on this hilarious and heartwarming series,” said Lisa Katims, president of NBC Entertainment. “Ted’s comedic timing and ability to connect with audiences make him the perfect choice to play this lovable but clueless mayor.”

Danson, who is best known for his roles in “Cheers” and “The Good Place,” said he was drawn to the show’s unique premise. “Neil Bremer is a fish out of water in the world of politics,” he explained. “He’s trying to do the right thing, but he doesn’t always know what that is. It’s a great character to play.”

The series also stars Holly Hunter as Arpi Meskimen, Neil’s chief of staff, and Bobby Moynihan as Jayden Kwapis, Neil’s press secretary. “These are all fantastic actors who bring their A-game to the show,” said Katims. “We’re confident that ‘Mr. Mayor’ will be a hit with audiences.”

“Mr. Mayor” is created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, the team behind the hit comedies “30 Rock” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” “We’re excited to bring this new series to NBC,” said Fey. “It’s a funny and timely look at the challenges of running a major city.”

The series has already generated buzz among industry insiders and fans alike. “Ted Danson is perfect for this role,” said Variety critic Daniel D’Addario. “He brings his trademark charm and wit to the character of Neil Bremer.”

“Mr. Mayor” is expected to premiere on NBC in the fall of 2021. The exact release date has yet to be announced.
